After many years of practice, Raegan (she/they) began teaching yoga in 2015. She currently teaches classes that range from kids to seniors, along with offering private and prenatal (also postnatal) instruction. She believes in yoga’s ability to restore and balance more than simply the body. Her classes create a space for everyone, no matter where they are in their practice. Raegan Robinson is an E-RYT 500, RPYT, RCYT that holds additional certifications in Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Accessible Yoga, Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Fertility Yoga, along with designations for Seniors, Chakras, IPATH Method, Mudras, Meditation, and ART & IVF Support.

What excites you about your work?

I am most excited about being able to expand the community I work with and create more offerings in person and online.

Who do you dedicate your work to?

I am dedicated to helping find ways to make yoga accessible to anyone who is interested in it. This means creating space for those that are neurodiverse, impacted by trauma, have chronic pain, limited mobility, TBI... Everyone deserves a safe space and an opportunity to practice.

Who inspires you, who are you learning from?

Denese Cavanaugh, Tracee Stanley, Indu Arora, Shawn Moore, Andrea Gibson, and Lorna Simpson.

Though it is important to teach to the person in front of you, I also think it is important to make everyone in my classes feel seen.”

How can people reading this support the work you’re doing?

Share my work. Come to one of my classes or invite me to teach for a group or event. Follow me at @healingfocusedyoga or @cocoon_nola. I am also on Insight Timer as Healing Focused Yoga.

I love being in community with like-minded individuals and I love to geek-out over the nuances and inner workings of yoga, Sanskrit, and sound based healing.

What is something that you didn't know that you now understand differently with wellness?

That it takes work --- not that it is difficult, but it is often overlooked. We have to include ourselves in the care we give. We must make time to check-in with ourselves -- our feelings, our needs --- and give ourselves the time and space to learn the practices that make us most settled and at home in our being.

What is your own wellness practice? How do you find balance?

My self-care and wellness practices are based in restorative yoga, meditation, mantra, mudra, breathwork, and sound-based practices - all the things I love teaching most. I consider these things avenues to help me reconnect and activate the parasympathetic system, which I find so important to help maintain balance in my life.
