Tell us: what excites you about your work?

I am excited for the chance to open people up to their own inner workings and inviting them to see who they are and what they're worth. I am overjoyed by the people intentionally seeking joy and healing. The strength and vulnerability in my community astounds me.

What feels rich and abundant in your work right now?

I am so rich in connection right now! It feels so fulfilling to speak to people who relate to my experiences and are encouraged by my work. There is so much in this world that causes us fear and pain and exhaustion and I am so lucky to be so rich in people dedicated to joy.

Who do you dedicate your work to?

I dedicate my work to Queer BIPOC and everyone marginalized in this world. I dedicate my work to the planet, my Great Mother. I dedicate my work to the spirit of joy and revolution. I dedicate my work to my ancestors, the Choctaw, African, and European. And most of all, I dedicate my work to young Krysta who was hurting and hiding for so many years. It's for them that I work, it's for little Krysta that I keep moving forward.

Who inspires you, who are you learning from, what books are you reading? We are really excited to learn this about you!

I am very inspired by other BIPOC in my industry. People like Sanyu Estelle, Jade T. Perry, and Chiron Armand always offer something that tickles, delights, and challenges my brain. Since the passing of Bell Hooks I have begun reading her works starting with 'Feminism is for Everybody' and 'All About Love'.

How can people reading this support the work you are doing?

You can keep up with my work by joining my email list on pinkopalmagic.com, following on IG @pinkopalmagic and on TikTok @gemini_themini. If a donation is possible that money always goes to offering access to my work to people who can't afford it. You can donate via paypal or the link in my IG bio 'leave a tip'. And if you want to work with me intimately my Patreon , The Opalite Subscription, is always open.

What something you didn’t know, that now you understand differently with wellness?

Wellness and spirituality taught me about belonging and value. I didn't know how valuable human are to the planet, I thought we were just a nuisance and pests and that the planet must hate us. But that's not true, we are here to work with the planet and our environment for the betterment of all life. We all belong, we all have power, and we all have responsibilities to ourselves, each other, and nature.

What is your own wellness practice? How do you find balance?

I am constantly seeking balance as I don't think balance is an unchanging state you arrive at. My life is my practice. I prioritize compassion and care for myself and others, I try to stay open to conflict, I listen to my soul and spirits when there is a call and I try to surrender to that call, even if I don't understand it right away. I try to stay in tune with my own rhythms and the rhythms of the planet and the universe. I try not to grip too hard when something is trying to die. I try to respect the life, death, rebirth cycle. And I try to stand up for what is right even and especially when it doesn't feel like it serves me to do so.
